MAY 2019 MINUTES

May 23rd 2019

Minutes

  1. We need to create basic rules for the Council.  a) SOCCC is not in charge of the individual clubs. b) If a club purchases a SOCCC banner for $40 then decides later to leave the Council, the club agrees to sell the banner back to the Council for the same price.  We all agree that we want to keep the rules to an absolute minimum.   We are here to share info and support each other.

  2. Future meetings will be held the 3rd Thursday of the month during the spring and summer months.  Location in Grants Pass TBD.  There will be no scheduled meetings during the fall or winter.

  3. “About us” or Mission Statement: “Located in southern Oregon, SOCCC is a car club council created to unite the area clubs, it’s people and the events. This is NOT a club.  Just a neutral ground for ALL car club information. We have created this neutral ground to show when some car shows are and to support car clubs in our area, including charities.  We all enjoy cars, no matter the make, so let’s all put on smiling faces and back each other up.”.  Council admins to decide if any changes need to be made. Will discuss.

  4. Rich Wilson from Better Car Shows had offered to pay for the website.  Thank you Rich!  However, the website cost turned out to be much higher than any of us had anticipated so we are sticking with the free Wix site for now until we can find a more reasonably priced option.

  5. Ashlee Sanford has created the free SOCCC website  https://socarclubcouncil.wixsite.com/website and free email socarclubcouncil@gmail.com . Ashlee is currently gathering car club logos, info and website info to be shared on our website (this IS what our Council is all about after all!).   =)

  6. Arleen Parker created the Facebook Group “Southern Oregon Car Club Council”. Please ask your club members to join this group.  They will each need to answer the questions before being accepted.  At a future meeting, we should discuss how we want to use this Facebook Group and who should be allowed to join.

  7. After each meeting, the minutes will be emailed to all Council Admins and the minutes will also be posted on the website.

  8. Mark your calendar for this HUGE event!    The Cam Kings are planning their Annual Car Club BBQ for Sep 28th!  The 541 Outlaws will be cooking up the meat that you bring.  Bring a dish to share and your condiments.  Location: Tom Pierce Park ($5 park entry) in Grants Pass 11am to Dusk
